I am disappointed to hear about Stephan Bonner testing positive for a banned substance after his UFC 62 fight against Forrest Griffin.
Like everybody else, I was thoroughly impressed after watching the first match between Bonnar and Griffin. Though I was happy for Griffin after the match, I was disappointed that Bonnar lost such a close decision. My disappointment turned to joy when Dana White awarded him his own 6-figure contract -- a fitting reward for the other participant in the fight of the year for 2005.
I was really pulling for Bonnar to pull out the win in his second match against Griffin at UFC 62, but was left disappointed when he lost -- again by decision but by a wider margin.
I hold out hope that Stephan Bonnar can overcome this unfortunate circumstance and look forward to seeing him back in the octagon.
